When trying new designs and techniques, mistakes happen! We created this design by inlaying laminated puzzle pieces into both sides of the paddle. Unfortunately, one of the first pieces did not clamp down flat and, therefore, we sanded through a portion of the puzzle piece. We took a close up of the piece. The good news is that it is on the backside of the paddle, so if you plan to hang it on the wall then you've gotten yourself a good deal on a really unique paddle!!!
- Cherry: A domestic wood from Eastern USA and Canada that is usually considered to be in the same class as mahogany for usage in the United States. It is strong and fairly durable. The heartwood is light salmon to reddish-tan in color when freshly cut, but cherry is very photosensitive and dramatically darkens over the course of its life to a rich reddish-brown with exposure to air and sunlight.
The puzzle pieces are a random mix of domestic and exotic wood species.
