What's in this Paddle?:
- Maple: A popular, fast growing decorative tree that grows in Eastern USA & Canada. The term “Soft Maple” does not refer to any specific species of maple, but rather, its a broad term which includes several different species of maple. Soft maple is only slightly softer than hard, sugar maple.
- African Mahogany: Originates in West Tropical Africa (primarily Ivory Coast, Ghana, and Nigeria). Heartwood color is variable, ranging from a very pale pink to a deeper reddish brown, sometimes with streaks of medium to dark reddish brown. Color tends to darken with age. Quartersawn surfaces can also exhibit a ribbon-stripe appearance. It has a good natural luster with a light-refracting optical phenomenon known as chatoyancy.
